Cycling vacation at Lake Chiemsee

This star tour takes you to southern Bavaria and Lake Chiemsee. A picturesque landscape awaits you - the panorama of the mountains, the dark blue lake at your side, churches with onion domes, and historic monasteries along the way. Of course, a trip to Herreninsel and Fraueninsel is a must. For this cycling vacation on Lake Chiemsee, you should be in reasonably good shape or use an e-bike.

Day 1 Arrival in Prien
The starting point for your tours is Prien. How about an evening swim in Bavaria's largest lake, a ride on the steam train, or a cool Bavarian beer on the hotel's sun terrace?

Day 2 Excursion, Eggstätt Lake District & Amerang, 40-60 km / 25-37 mi
The diversity of the 17 lakes in the Eggstätt Lake District is unique. Enjoy the picture-postcard idyll of the Upper Bavarian Alps on this bike tour.

Day 3 Roundtrip lake Chiemsee, approx. 65 km / 40 mi
There is a good cycle path around the lake. Discover the Roman museum in Seebruck or enjoy the sun on one of the many lakeside terraces. 

Day 4 Excursion to Herreninsel and Fraueninsel, boat trip
Without your bike, but by boat, you can reach Herrenchiemsee, where you can visit the famous palace of King Ludwig II. Return trip via Fraueninsel. Island potteries, fish smokehouses, and beautiful gardens invite you to visit.  

Day 5 Excursion to the Achtal valley, approx. 55 km + train
You can take the train to Übersee on your own, then make a detour to the Tyrolean Achen Valley. Cycle back to the lake through forest and moorland.

Day 6 Excursion to Seon Monastery, approx. 45 km, boat trip
You start with a boat trip to Seebruck, then cycle to one of the most beautiful monasteries in Bavaria, Seon Monastery. From Gstadt, you cycle along the lake one last time.

The booking process

Arrival to "Cycling vacation at Lake Chiemsee":

• Parking in Prien:
  Free parking at the hotel subject to availability, reservation not possible.

• Arrival via train:
  The hotel is located 2 km from the train station.
  By bus, approx. every 1.5 hours, duration 7 minutes, stop: Prien Hafen, from there 450 m walk to the hotel, standard price 2.10 €.

• Arrival at Munich airport:
  By S-Bahn and train to Prien Station, hourly, journey time approx. 1.5 hours, 1 change, standard fare from approx. 34 €.

• Pre-booked rental bikes are ready for you at the hotel.
